A tragic
reminder of the life-or-death importance of workplace safety came shortly
before 6 a.m. today, when a fatal accident occurred at a commercial printing
plant in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, evidently involving a tow motor (right). Lancaster's coroner has scheduled an autopsy for Tuesday morning to determine the exact cause of the worker's death.
Denise Seeman-Risner, vice president of manufacturing at the plant belonging to
R.R. Donnelley and Sons Company where the accident occurred, has provided the
following prepared statement from the company: "All of us
are all deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague and our thoughts and
prayers are with his family and friends."
